I wish to comment on the Environmental Registry proposal ERO# 019-0907 regarding the renewal of leases for private cottages in Rondeau Provincial Park. This provincial park is owned by all the citizens and tax payers of Ontario and as such is available for their use and recreation, not for the pleasure of a few private cottagers. As many endangered species call this park their home, the responsibility for the care and management of this important natural asset should be in public hands and not in private hands.

The private cottagers must leave the park if this is to remain a provincial park and the numerous species at risk in the park must be protected. This is what a provincial park is all about.
