Dear sirs,

On behalf of my wife and myself, I wish to express our strong support for the proposed three year extension of the cottage leases at Rondeau Provincial Park ( "Rondeau"), as well as our strong support for extending them on a long- term basis.

The cottagers at Rondeau bring a sense of community to the park, which very much enhances the experience. This sense of community has a long history at Rondeau, spanning many generations. People, like ourselves, who are cottagers, have grown up enjoying the park. We understand the importance of maintaining special places like Rondeau and all that it has to offer. We see ourselves as custodians of this special place and strive to enhance it and protect it while, at the same time,. sharing the experience with those who camp or use the park for day trips to the beach or for picnics ,etc. The park is large enough to accommodate all who wish to use it without difficulty.

The cottagers also provide a substantial economic boast each year to the nearby communities of Blenheim, Ridgetown , Chatham and all of Chatham-Kent , with their purchases food, gas and other supplies which, unlike those camping in the park, continues throughout the summer season.

We very much hope that the decision is made to extend the leases both on a three year basis and on a long term basis so this can continue for generations to come.
