-I see many positive changes coming from Ontario's new Forest sector strategy. For example the reduction in the red tape and redundancies in legislation. They can place an unnecessary burden on SFL holders and ultimately can slow down forest operations. So reducing the red tape and having quicker turnarounds on MNRF reviews can drastically improve the forest sector as a whole.
-One negative aspect that I think is a looming concern for those who work in the forest sector is the reduction of the annual harvestable area (AHA) and what areas are eligible for harvest. I believe that the province is putting too many constraints on what areas are eligible for harvest. Decisions are being made by computer models and not foresters.
