Just for a moment, can we stop and think with our hearts and minds and not our wallets? What we do today has real and lasting implications for all of our tomorrows. The survival and sustainability of the human existence on this planet is intricately tied to all of the other species that also call Earth home. When we put their existence in danger, we tie ourselves to their peril.
Can we not, instead, look for ways to support our northern communities with work that is also sustainable? Can we not look to make decisions and take actions that have long-term positive impacts instead of short-term, unsustainable outcomes? Can we also, for once, do what is right for all people, and not what is right for lobbyists and their employers?
Let's allow our norther forests to remain just that. Forests. Without human intervention, without designs and balance sheets. Let's allow the species that live there to also thrive there. Let's, for once, leave well enough alone, and perhaps look to create efficiencies and reduce the footprint of what it is we already engage in.
For the love of humanity and our home, just say no to any further developments.
