I can’t believe that this plan starts off by seeming to ignore the opinions of our regular citizens through this consultation process and the basic premise that it is critical to preserve and protect our trees and forest canopy. I’m beyond scared and very concerned over this provincial government’s determination to support industry through what appears to be chronic deregulation and manipulating our current legislation away from ensuring basic protection and preservation of our forests, but also seems to be ignoring our fragile water quality and supply, our land and ecosystems and our wildlife. Before all else we must place our environment first! By being shortsighted and irresponsible now, we’re denying the next and future generations the quality of life we’ve enjoyed and are now finding under threat. So, in all your planning for business, development and all please do better to assure Ontario citizens that our forests, land, water and wildlife remain the main focus as we move forward.
