Even considering a healthy black bear population in Ontario....the obvious risks to a mother and cubs increases with this proposal..... therefore is it really necessary to have a spring hunting season?
Tourism for wildlife is extremely beneficial, plus the negative publicity that accompanies the loss of a female with nursing cubs is spread not only through Canada but worldwide.
