I don't like hunting at all, but a springtime hunt does not make sense due to mothers giving birth. You cannot always tell a male from a female, and orphaning any animal is just cruel. Then the baby either dies, or it gets 'rescued' and sent off to a rehab who relies on donations and volunteers to run it. So I do not see a positive anywhere.
