Comments re: Proposed changes to Ontario's water quantity management framework. (2020)
1. Requiring support of local municipal governments in order to take water for bottling purposes has my support. This should apply to all bottling facilities including those producing less than a suggested 379,000 litres per day.
2. The growth of demands placed on Ontario's water supply by population growth and climate change supports the suggestion of water supply management and use principle which ensure a sustainable supply into the future.
3. Missing in the proposed study is mention of water quality both from human pollution sources and due to the impacts on ground water quality of bedrock minerals. Both impact water quantity.
4. Making water use data accessible to the public helps us all to become more informed water users.
