My father in-law is a member of the Ontario Hawking Club, who have been critical in obtaining improved regulations for falconry in Ontario. He has worked with others for 17 years to allow the retrieval of wild birds to be used only for falconry. I have witnessed his passion for falconry first-hand and I fully support this proposal to allow falconers to have access to wild birds. I think it will result in more educated falconers as well as support their heritage. I also believe it will encourage more active conservation and citizen science, and will be beneficial to falconers as a whole, from apprentice levels to the most-experienced.
