please consider this comment as a plead to have a building erected around that shredder at don mills steel! The noise pollution in the area is absolutely unbearable and we have been finding our plants & outbuildings beginning to be coated with thin layers of red rust (soot-like material) when they are running without pause multiple days in a row! The noise & air pollution issues are way too apparent here to go unnoticed!
Don Mills Steel runs that shredder from 6 am to 4 pm every weekday and on saturdays. Something has to be done to reduce the noise & airborne dust/rust/pollutants in our neighbourhood! The community members of Gormley have a right to live free of these kinds of conditions, and I believe that Don Mills Steel putting up a building around that shredder (a corner they should not have cut to begin with!) would solve this issue for everyone and allow them to keep their shredder operational. there is one thing that is certain - under NO circumstances should they be allowed to continue shredding without a building erected around that machine. Our local government seems not to care about this neighbourhood on the outskirts of their township, but we exist! I am pleading that, unlike our municipal representatives, our provincial government will see us as people who cannot go on with these conditions in place! Don Mills Steel needs to either put up a building around that shredder, or get rid of that machine altogether.
