On November 17,2020 we received the notice of proposal changes at the following DMS site. As a very nearby long term neighbor to his facility we are very much against any changes. This facility has been running a new shredder at the site since early this year which emits VERY loud noises in excess to any it has in the past 20 years, in which we have lived nearby. Large explosions/booms were happening daily in March 2020 that shook our foundation of our house and caused cracking in our interior plaster walls. With further investigation into the noise, they admitted to putting propane tanks or something of that matter into the shredder and it caused sonic booms that could be heard up to the corner of Stouffville Rd and Woodbine Ave 1km away. We have young children that are attending online schooling and will be deeply impacted by such an increase of noise pollution, as well as the increase of traffic of trucks moving in and out of the location. We are on well services and are against the increase of pollution from chemical contaminants that will be emitted into the air, as well as the possible increase of chemicals into the soil. In the past 5years there has been two large industrial fires at this site in 2015 when flames were up 30metres into the air and it took many days to get under control, as well as in October 2020 when again another fire broke out that luckily I was able to by chance see and call emergency services. This location can not be monitored well enough and kept to responsiblity to allow such changes to be implemented safely without another extremely dangerous incident happening. I believe the growth of such a location needs to be reduced in order for the safety of all residents and tax payers as well as the emergency services that have been put at risk due to this site.
