As an individual involved with residential and commercial planning/application issues at the Committee of Adjustment, TLAB and LPAT levels in my community within Toronto, I do NOT agree with the Minister having the powers to take control of the site plan control process within a municipality/city.
In these cases, the Province has probably already used the Minister's Zoning Orders legislation to rule, over the city or municipality, the outcome of an application. The city/municipality/conservation authority and residents will be forced to deal with this situation. They should retain their control of the site plan control process. The Province can suggest/request certain considerations but it should be the decision of the local authorities as to what is good for that community.
