While I can appreciate that this proposal sounds good, I feel it is a distraction from multiple assaults on our already protected greenbelt by Doug Ford and Stephen Clark and their friends (and big donors) in the development industry. Case in point: the Pickering Wetlands,; Highway 413 proposal through Vaughan. Please uphold the greenbelt already protected before you add on. Or, add more to the greenbelt but leave the existing greenbelt protections in place. Stop destroying farmland, wetlands and other protected areas in order to enable urban sprawl! I donot forget Doug Ford being secretly recorded promising his developer friends that he would open the greenbelt to development! This will become a huge election issue and I am not an activist but I will become one if the existing greenbelt is touched.
