The green belt is irreplaceable and needs to be maintained. The developments proposed can be moved to other regions with investment in high speed transit links and, affordable broadband, and business development funds. Slicing through the green belt with a highway meant to support low density housing and economic development that concentrates jobs in a region that is already developed is not good policy. It will not solve any of the housing and economic crisis that the province faces.
