Writing to support this initiative to grow the Geenbelt, and protect publicly owned lands from development. Requesting the government to at least expand and widen wildlife corridors along river and creek systems, even if private lands must be added to the green belt, and also protect forested areas whether on private or picnic land. Every square foot in important for out disappearing nature.

There are so many long term benefits to expanding the Greenbelt, ranging from preservation of groundwater, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, positive psychological benefits, health benefits from locally grown, unpolluted foods, etc. all of which outweigh the short term benefits of developing the greenbelt. Please consider the detrimental impacts other areas in the world are facing from a reduced greenbelt-like space due to development and save future generations here from the negative impacts and damage control this will cause.
