At their June 21st, 2021…

At their June 21st, 2021 meeting, Council for the City of Quinte West endorsed the Motion from the Agricultural Advisory Committee (below) in addition to comments submitted by Quinte Conservation Authority (attached), and directed that these comments be submitted under consultation on ERO 019-2986.

We look forward to providing comment on the upcoming Phase 2 of consultation on the amendments to the Conservation Authorities Act.

Motion from Agricultural Advisory Committee:
A Special Meeting of the Agricultural Advisory Committee was held on June 15th, 2021 to review and provide input on the proposed Phase 1 regulations. The minutes of this Committee are contained within Councils agenda, and the following motion was passed:

“ That the City of Quinte West directs comments to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that a member of the Quinte West Agricultural Advisory Committee be appointed to the Conservation Authority Board for Lower Trent Conservation and Quinte Conservation to represent the interests of the agricultural community”

At the direction of Council, this motion will be submitted as part of the City of Quinte west comments on the current consultation.
