As a landowner on Wolfe Island I’m so happy to see this proposal going forward. Wild Turkeys breed so successfully here, producing at least two broods a year, that they have become the most abundant bird on my property. It’s not unusual to look out in the field or woods and see 75 or more birds. I fully support instituting a fall hunt here and, in fact, would support a higher harvest rate in Eastern Ontario where Turkeys are altering the nature of the forest understory.
