Dear Dan,
In addition to the discussions and files I have submitted earlier in my emails to you between Oct 2021 and now, please find the enclosed:
1. Petition to demand more housing supply in Ottawa's official plan. (url) : please check PPS2020 points
2. Names of people who signed the petition. (csv)
3. Comments by some of the people who signed the petition. (csv)
4. My presentation slides re: Growth Management Plan (GMP_presentation.pdf): please check PPS points as they're complimentary to those in petition.
5. A few email exchanges with city staff expressing the need to build 100,000 more units along with some solutions
6. Ottawa's rental Market Analysis (done in 2019)
We understand that there are many different players, but ask you and the Minister to exercise the powers within your control to bring about a solution to the housing disaster we're in. The official plan is NOT in line with many PPS 2020 points, some of which are detailed in the document entitled "GMP_presentation" and others in the petition.
By allowing urban boundaries to expand more, and planning for more housing supply, we would be one step closer to addressing housing affordability. We can then move on to tackle the multiple layers that are none-planning-matters. Let's ensure that we leave no one behind as we plan the future for generations to come!
