This proposal is having unintended consequences for small landscaping companies like mine. There should not be a requirement for tracking tiny amounts of excess soils, we typically haul no more than 3 cubic yards at a time and it is only ever sod coming off of residential areas for landscaping and hardscaping projects. There also shouldn't be any type of requirements for holding tiny amounts of excess clean soil at our shop. The conservative government is supposed to be cutting red tape for small business not adding more. I understand the regulation for massive digs where the soil is clean and can be reused. It absolutely should be reused and I support regulation in that area, but not for moving tiny amounts of sod and clean soil in the landscaping industry. Please pause the regulation and reconsider the impact on small landscape jobs and companies.
