The Nation Municipality is pleased to see “Connecting the East: A draft transportation plan for Eastern Ontario.” Thank you for the opportunity of providing comments.
The highway 417 runs along The Nation Municipality’s south border from interchange 79 Limoges Rd down to interchange 35 McCrimmon Rd. We are expressing a strong need to add an on ramp at interchange 79, Limoges Rd going westbound towards Ottawa on the Highway 417.
The village of Limoges, located at interchange 79, is a growing community. The current one side highway access ramp serves thousands of people living: in Limoges, St-Albert, Crysler and Embrun areas. All 4 locations are seeing tremendous housing growth. It is the main access road to major tourist attraction: Calypso Water Park, the St-Albert Cheese Factory in St-Albert and to the Larose Forest trails in Limoges. In addition, the exit 79 is an essential access road to multiple growing businesses. All of these factors fuel the need for a greater access to the highway 417 for a smoother and safer flow of traffic.
From traffic studies, ongoing residential subdivisions to new commercial development, we have in hand multiple documents readily available to share with you. Our communication channels and resources are fully open to ease your next steps.
Warm regards,
