I strongly disagree with the proposal to cancel the cap and trade program. It will end up costing residents of the province more than to maintain our inclusion in the program, especially when considering that the federal government will likely impose its own carbon pricing strategy if the province of Ontario doesn't have one of it's own. The impacts of climate change are real, and will continue to cost Ontario residents real money for weather related incidents. As well, if climate change is not addressed it will decrease quality of life in ways that are difficult to assign a monetary value to, but are tangible nonetheless. For these reasons and more, I do not approve of the Bill C 4, "Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018".
