WSP has provided comments on behalf of CN Rail regarding the City of Hamilton Official Plan.

The comments provided focus on matters of land use compatibility in relation to rail facilities and sensitive land uses. Comment provided requested that consideration be given to the inclusion of policy language and definitions that specifically reflect the Provincial Policy Statement, 2020 (PPS).

Comments are intended to ensure rail facilities are adequately addressed through land use compatibility policies.

The comments include recommended policy language that is intended to ensure that planning for land uses in the vicinity of rail facilities be undertaken in such a way that the economic function and long-term operation of rail systems is protected.
