Hello,
I would implore you to not move forward with this proposal and remove land from the Greenbelt.
1) This sets a dangerous precedent for future governments to further amend the Greenbelt
2) Yes, housing is needed, especially with forecasted new immigration. Instead of expanding the Greenbelt you could look at more densification in non-greenbelt areas. Several statistics exist where densification (i.e. population living in one square km/mile) in the GTHA is a lot less than other peer cities (e.g. NYC, London U.K. etc).
3) The provincial government can look at further densification by doubling-down on TOCs and other zoning eases to create more units/dwellings in existing areas
