Please see attached letter. Key points:
- Greenbelt area is a minimum, not a maximum or optimum. Swapping lands is not defensible from a scientific perspective.
- Ontario needs to increase areas protected for their ecological and agricultural value
- Proposed lands removed are generally surrounded by single-family sprawl in areas poorly served by public transit
- Proposed development appears to be more single-family sprawl, which is inconsistent with the Transit-Oriented Communities Program.
- Therefore, the proposal should be rejected.
