I am against this proposal, once we pave over the greenbelt we can't get it back.
We have too much urban sprawl as it is, causing massive amounts of traffic, pollution, and increased commuting times. Instead, we should be densifying our cities with the missing middle of housing. https://missingmiddlehousing.com/ which is more affordable and accessible for families.
Building massive detached homes in the green belt will not be affordable for the average families, but will instead make developers a lot of money, so the net benefit from what is lost isn't good enough.
Please reconsider this plan. During the election the Ford government promised not to build on the green belt because of the backlash. This will hurt more Ontarians than it will help.
