It is sad to see that you, the Ontario government, seem to be driven by short term views.
Developing on designated greenbelt areas, which were designated as such for a reason, is a decision with very long-term effects, which cannot be undone, and which will negatively affect us and future generations.
Please do not go there if there are alternatives - which I am sure there are - as geographically Ontario is big enough. You do not have to build in greenbelt areas. The housing shortage and the bottom line for developers cannot be an excuse to make the wrong decision on this now.
As a conservative party you should conserve rather than destroy in perpetuity, especially if there are alternatives. I can assure you that the mood under voters is that if you push ahead with this, that you will be punished in the next elections, as you definitively did not get a mandate to do this.
In that regard, it is a pity that we cannot go on strike, like the education workers, otherwise you would have to very quickly pivot on this too.
