The development of locally protected green space and farmland will substantially harm current and future residents in the area. The destruction of these areas will hurt our access to affordable and local food, local nature areas, and destroy species at risk habitat. The continued destruction of these areas ensures that the impacts of climate change will be greater and sends the message that short term gains for the select few trump the rights of everyone to clean air, clean water, and access to green space. I urge you to not allow for the construction of what will be poorly designed multi million dollar homes at the expense of our natural heritage. Canada cannot sustain more people. The world cannot sustain more people. There is not enough jobs, there is lacking health care, and a homeless crisis that involves the need for institutionalized care and addiction treatments rather than just building more sprawl. I am a resident of the area and the destruction of the green pelt and local nature areas is what is driving me to move away from the province.
