Opening up the Greenbelt and sensitive wetlands for development goes directly against Doug Ford's campaign promise, as well as common sense and the wealth of knowledge we have about the importance of keeping these lands naturalized.
Nobody wants to live on a floodplain, it is a recipe for disaster.
The public has shown, time and time again, that it does not want any part of the Greenbelt to be destroyed. This bill goes directly against Doug Ford's campaign promise to Ontarians to NOT touch the Greenbelt. It is pandering directly to developers. The ONLY people who will benefit from this are the select few companies who happen to already own Greenbelt lands, and are chomping at the bit to profit from them.
