Hello,
Any removal of existing Greenbelt is unacceptable. Replacing existing Greenbelt space with other areas that are already protected and claiming it's more, is deceptive at best.
New housing can be built in other areas, like North towards Sudbury. Not every new immigrant needs to live in the GTA. If the new immigrants want to live in Canada, their arrival shouldn't get to influence the decision to remove protected greenspace. Canada is a massive country with lots of other provinces and towns that have more space for urban sprawl.
Another idea is to repurpose existing low density residential and build apartment buildings instead of single family homes. Build up and not out.
Signed,
A very concerned citizen
