The greenbelt lands were set aside to be protected from development to protect our water and green spaces (which have countless ecological functions) for future generations.

To permit their destruction for more homes that only wealthy people can afford is a crime against the future residents of Ontario.

That this government would permit this heinous betrayal of our children is unfortunately not surprising given how they handled COVID, public sector negotiations, land use planning, the protective role of our conservation authorities and everything else they touch.

Oh, we’ll all remember the Ford years, living in the future slums with multiple families living in those expensive homes that municipalities won’t be able to afford to provide services or parkland for.
I’m very ashamed to be a resident of Ontario at this time.
