I will never understand why "new" land has to be targeted for new housing. There is so much urban decay in sections of any city that can be renewed and transformed instead of using up precious green areas. The infrastructure is already in place (sewers, hydro etc) so the cost should be much less all around. Please reconsider destroying the eco system and consider more strategic thinking around housing solutions.
