The integrity of the green belt in Ontario must be maintained to ensure future generations of Ontarians can enjoy clean air and water, and minimized impacts of climate change. This region acts as buffer for flooding, supports countless species and ecosystems and provides people with a place to enjoy nature, critical for mental health.
To solve the housing crisis, the government should be looking at densificaton within cities, the missing middle, and repurposing brown fill sites to take advantage of locations that already have amenities such as transit and schools.
Don't sell our future for short term, unsustainable gains
