While the housing crisis is important, there are many other ways to address it without demolishing the Greenbelt. Laneway housing, more financial incentives to utilize existing housing for rental units, using vertical space, more subsidized housing options and community living spaces, funding innovative/creative use of space projects. These should all be maximally explored before making a move that will further contribute to the devastating effects of global warming by limiting protected green space. This proposal is short sighted, lazy, and wrong on every level. I urge you to not go forward with this horrible concept.
