I am strongly against any modifications to the Greenbelt boundaries. It defeats the entire purpose if the Greenbelt can be pushed further and further out. We need provincial policies which allow for dense, urban infill housing in the abundant residential land we currently have that is zoned for extremely low-density uses (single-family homes). Study after study has shown that denser housing is much more financially sustainable than urban sprawl. Any expansion of the Greenbelt will just lead to higher tax burdens on local municipalities and new areas of low economic productivity.
Get creative and help support our municipalities instead of destroying the environment and the agricultural sector.
