I completely disagree with this proposal and believe there are other more effective solutions to the housing crisis. The Greenbelt is conserved to ensure the ecological health of the region. It’s an area of cultural heritage and encourages recreation for human health. The destruction of the Greenbelt is unnecessary when abandoned housing within the city can be rebuilt as apartments providing economical solutions for more people. Urbanization of the Greenbelt is detrimental to the environment and is not an effective solution to the housing issue.
