The proposal to build on the Greenbelt comes with alot of issues. First where will all the animals go? They will move into cities as their habitat has been taken over. This will cause more issues for people as these animals will be looking for food and places to sleep.
Secondly, what will happen to all the trees? With climate change, we need trees to help support our planet. Trees not only provide homes and food for animals but they provide shelter when people are out in nature, they regulate temperature and improve the land's capacity to adapt to climate change.
Currently in Ontario we need affordable housing. Empty buildings, and churches could be converted to affordable housing for a variety of populations.
By building on the Greenbelt, this government will only be serving the rich and not serving the entire province as they are to be doing.
