I am deeply disappointed to hear that the government is planning to pursue these actions, especially when Premier Ford promised he would not. Canada's greatest strength is our natural resources and beauty, and they should be protected for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. As a Hamilton resident, I truly do not understand the need to expand the urban sprawl. There is an incredible amount of developmental opportunities within the current boundary. Expanding the urban sprawl will do absolutely nothing to alleviate the current housing situation, as these homes will not be cheap. If we do need to find housing for new immigrants, we should be looking to build high density residencies within the current boundary. I hope that the government re-considers this proposition.
