With respect to Bill 23:
The Greenbelt is necessary to prevent against floods. Building more homes is possible without developing the Greenbelt. What Ontario needs is increased density where businesses and infrastructure have already been established. There is no need to increase urban sprawl. Our natural heritage is being undermined without appropriate reason except to the benefit of developers. This is a tragic direction that the province is heading towards.
The bill also sets a dangerous precedent on our provinces democratic process, removing the individual's agency to participate in public decisions that may detrimentally impact our everyday life.
