The Drive Clean Programme was a good idea that should not be cancelled. If owners of light vehicles know that their vehicles will no longer be tested, then there is no reason for them to keep the vehicle's' emission equipment up to standards. Owners will be removing things like catalytic convertors and other emission equipment because these components are expensive to service and replace. There will no longer be any accountability for personal vehicle emissions. It should be revamped just to check vehicles older than eight years, to a maximum of 25 years of age.
