The Greenbelt is critical to protecting the quality of our drinking water and providing flood protection to the surrounding area. It also supports a diverse ecosystem, as well as fertile farmland that the surrounding area depends on. Furthermore, it ensures that neighboring communities have access to beautiful trails, which improve quality of life for all in the GTA.

The Conservative government made a commitment to protect the Greenbelt. Failing to deliver on this promise will have massive negative repercussions to our communities, as well as to Doug Ford and the entire Conservative party. I, as well as many others, will never, ever believe the 'blue' party's promises again. You will not be re-elected and you will eventually lose this battle against the Greenbelt (which is ultimately a fight against the people of Ontario). It may take weeks (if you repeal or amend Bill 23) or years (if we fight this through the courts).
