I am dismayed at the Ontario government's proposal to disturb the existing boundaries of the greenbelt.
The total lack of ethics in acting contrary to promises made to protect the Greenbelt is appalling, especially in face of the conflict of interest apparent in rewarding developers who have contributed to Conservative coffers and your responsibility as steward of land that belongs to all Ontarians.
In a time of unprecedented extreme weather events we need our wetlands and forests intact to mitigate disasters. More than ever we need our farmlands intact to feed our population as foreign suppliers falter. We need contiguous natural areas so that species stressed by loss of habitat survive and we need nature to bring health and joy into our souls.
We also need more housing, and your own people attest to there being adequate land already available.
Hands off the Greenbelt!
