Leave the Greenbelt intact. In fact, it would be a good idea to extend it to include protection for the Grand River watershed and the Paris Galt Moraine.
Farmland, wetlands, and watersheds are all crucial for a livable future in Ontario.
Building housing in the Greenbelt breaches a series of promises to NOT touch the Greenbelt. People need a government that stands by its word! This is unconscionable on that basis alone!
This has little to do with housing. This is blatant corruption and cronyism.
Climate crisis does not even get a mention in this backward and undemocratic bill!
Consultation on something this profound ought to be thorough and exhaustive. This is not the case here. That is why Colin Best sent the letter on behalf of municipalities, the Bruce Trail Association wrote a condemning letter, various groups are contemplating legal action, First Nations published the Chiefs of Ontario letter, the Ontario Farmers Association wrote a protest to this power over reach for a stupid move and the list goes on and on. How can you persist in ignoring intelligent counters to this ill planned mistake?
Stop. Think. Consult. Avoid the stink of corruption and lies while condemning Ontario to an even bleaker future!
