I am extremely concerned about the proposal to remove and redesignate the Greenbelt for the purposes of building homes. The areas for consideration are outside the core cities. This only contributes to urban sprawl, and does little to nothing in creating AFFORDABLE housing, which is what this province desperately needs. Urban sprawl will also only exacerbate the climate crisis as more people will be living further from the city boundaries. Lastly, the proposed changes will likely yield to development of luxury homes rather than affordable, mid-high density housing which is key to addressing the unaffordablity that Ontarians face.
