I am vehemently against the proposed development on ANY part of the Greenbelt. It is protected for good reason and should remain protected. Climate change is causing dramatic weather events and the Greenbelt prevents flood events, improves our air quality, and is a precious resource and habitat for wildlife. I am in favour of building more homes, but we need more homes close to jobs and schools in dense, walkable communities, not more sprawl that depends on cars. Building homes on the Greenbelt will not help with housing affordability nor will it help us achieve our climate goals. We owe it to our future and our children's futures to do the right thing. We are in a climate crisis and it's time we start acting like it.
