What a disastrous decision to move forward with bill C23. The environmental consequences will be tremendous and irreversible. We need green space for our own quality of life; do you not see how many people get out and enjoy them; it is essential for mental and physical health, to say nothing of wildlife that need these corridors as habitat and migration routes. Adding more housing will add density and thus have a negative impact on infrastructure (roads, sewers, schools, hospitals...) that were not built to handle the capacity we have never mind adding that many other people to these same areas. We need to be more creative in solving the housing crisis; this is a crisis that governments created and destroying the environment even more is not the way to fix it. Let's have proper consultations and brainstorming instead of rushing through with a bill and decisions that cannot be undone. Mr. Ford; you promised not to touch the greenbelt.
