The land proposed to be removed from the Greenbelt as a consequence of Bill 23 is among the most expensive land in Southern Ontario in terms of cost per acre.
While it may be suggested that the Ontario government will successfully enable 1.5 million homes to be built in 10 years as a result of Bill 23, it's abundantly clear that the notion of "affordable" is of no meaning and that environmental constraints will be eased or more simply removed in order to achieve a highly questionable goal.
About the only clear intent of Bill 23 is the unfettered enrichment of the development industry with extremely limited control or environmental oversight.
This was NEVER the intent of the Greenbelt legislation.
