Hi. I want to say that I am against the use of greenbelt for housing.
Argument against using the Greenbelt for housing in Ontario.
It would undermine the purpose of the Greenbelt, which is to protect and preserve Ontario's natural resources and agricultural land. The Greenbelt is a unique and important part of Ontario's environment, providing essential habitat for animals and plants and protecting vulnerable ecosystems. Removing land from the Greenbelt to build housing would significantly reduce the amount of natural land available and could have a long-term negative impact on Ontario's environment. In addition, it could lead to increased air and water pollution and contribute to climate change.
I believe that it used to bring financial gain to individuals or companies with close ties to the provincial government. If the Greenbelt is opened up for development, it will create housing projects that would benefit companies with close ties to the government. This is an unfair advantage for certain businesses and individuals, leading to a lack of competition and reduced choice for consumers.
