1. Most residents of the Kitchener-Waterloo region experience a dearth of parkland at present. We cannot tolerate a reduction in the parkland dedication rate. Indeed, in Kitchener's core, there are dozens of high-rise buildings already approved and under construction, with no provision for additional parkland.
2. Many municipalities have calculated the hundreds of thousands of dollars that will be lost to decreased development charges. It is unconscionable for the Provincial government to implement regulations which pass on costs of infrastructure associated with new development to the municipalities.
