Please do not proceed with the absurd changes being proposed to the Planning Act and Development Charges.
Please also repeal Bill 23 - it simply is not in the best public interest or to the benefit of our province - just selected developers.
Parkland is essential and we need more greenspace - not less.
We need creativity and planning for parks - not pressures to focus solely on speed or cost reduction - it simply isn't in the best interests of the public.
Development costs need to be increased to reflect the true costs of development and should be paid for by those benefiting and purchasing the new developments - not by existing taxpayers. It is absurd to see unsustainable developments being subsidized and encouraged in a climate emergency and by older Canadians, poor Canadians and those who can least afford it.
Development must pay for itself and not leave massive debts for others to service.
