Development on lands within Settlement Areas that are not designated for growth: I represent clients in the Town of Wasaga Beach that have lands within the Settlement Boundary, with available servicing infrastructure, and of sizes that could provide additional housing supply. These lands are designated Rural as this has historically been a designation that the Town used for lands that were not developed. Section 2.2.1 of the Growth Plan discusses that development on excess lands shall be prohibited to the horizon of the Plan. This language should be deleted entirely so that lands within Settlement boundaries can be appropriately developed at the Municipalities discretion to increase housing choice within the settlement boundary and provide for efficient use of existing infrastructure.
